The adventure begins when your guide tells you the history of the island as we travel through cattle grazing lands and rice fields. You’ll pass a typical rural school, on your way to tour some of the island’s coffee, cocoa, and sugar cane plantations.
Head to Higüey and see the famous Basilica of Altagracia, a pilgrimage site due to its miraculous image of Our Lady, before strolling through the bustling market. Check out views of the Eastern Cordillera mountains before finishing with a stop at the beach and lunch at a local restaurant.
