Presenting statistics on the behavior of the tourism industry, Tourism Minister David Collado also revealed that the figure of 644,861 visitors in June represents, in arrivals, a growth of 9.9% more than that recorded in the same period of 2018 and 9.8% higher than that of 2019.

He highlighted the sustained growth that the tourism sector has had in the first six months of this year, an achievement that he attributes to the total recovery of the industry, thanks to the efforts of the public and private sectors.

He informed that hotel occupancy is over 71 % in general terms and the average stay is ten days. He also pointed out that the airports where the greatest flow of visitors was received were those of Punta Cana and Las Americas, and affirmed that the sustained growth in the arrival of visitors is not only by air, but also by sea.
